Barcelona, June 4, 2026. – Towa International, the international hub of Towa Pharmaceutical and a company specialized in the research, development, manufacturing, and distribution of generic medicines, continues to advance its growth and diversification strategy with the launch of Dermatul®, its new line of dermatological solutions.
With this new line, the company expands its self-care portfolio and takes another step in its evolution toward a holistic wellbeing model, strengthening its presence in the consumer healthcare field and its commitment to a more preventive, accessible approach to health focused on people’s quality of life.
Dermatul® will be commercialized in Spain, Italy, and Portugal through Towa International’s commercial subsidiaries: Towa Pharmaceutical España, Towa Pharmaceutical Italia, and Towa Pharmaceutical Portugal.
The launch of Dermatul® also responds to a context of growing concern around daily dermatological care. According to various studies, nearly 70%* of the global population shows some degree of skin sensitivity, a reality that has increased the demand for specific, effective, and skin-friendly solutions.
“At Towa International, we understand health from a holistic and integrated perspective, as a balance between physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Within this vision, with Dermatul® we take another step in our commitment to offering accessible, high-quality solutions that accompany people in their daily lives, contributing not only to treatment but also to prevention and everyday care,” says João Paulo Nascimento, Chief Commercial Officer B2C Europe at Towa International.
Dermatological innovation with differentiated technology
Dermatul® is born with the aim of delivering a new experience in daily dermatological care through effective, convenient formulations adapted to patients’ real needs.
The new line incorporates KireiFilm® Tech, an innovative, patented technology based on sustained-release bioadhesive hydrogels, developed in collaboration with its technology partner, OJER Pharma. Thanks to this technology, the formulations create a flexible, transparent, and breathable film that acts as an invisible dressing, helping protect the skin and enabling the sustained release of active ingredients.
The Dermatul® line consists of four specific solutions for different mild skin conditions: Dermatul® Calmfilm, designed to soothe and repair affected skin; Dermatul® Nasofilm, intended for the care, hydration, and protection of the external nasal area; Dermatul® Periofilm, indicated to protect, soothe, and repair the area around the mouth; and Dermatul® Kerafilm, developed for the care of corns and calluses through a gel barrier that adheres like a second skin.
In this regard, Dr. Ana Molina, dermatologist and specialist in oncological and aesthetic dermatology, highlights that “Dermatul® introduces a very interesting approach to daily dermatological care, offering effective, discreet solutions that are easy to incorporate into a routine. The bioadhesive hydrogel technology also represents an evolution in skin treatment, providing a distinctive feeling of comfort compared to more traditional formats. This new range combines innovation and practicality to facilitate the care of skin conditions through a more patient-centred and accessible experience.”
With extensive experience in the manufacturing and distribution of generic medicines, Towa International continues to advance in the development of new categories focused on everyday wellbeing and comprehensive patient support, following the same standards of quality, regulatory rigor, and operational excellence that have established the group as a pharmaceutical benchmark.
This launch also reflects the Group’s commitment to innovation and continuous improvement applied to the development of solutions that enhance patient experience and adherence to treatments.
