Barcelona, July 1, 2026. – Towa International, the international hub of Towa Pharmaceutical and a company specialized in the research, development, manufacturing, and distribution of generic medicines, is advancing its growth and diversification strategy with the launch of Relipic®, a new topical solution containing dimetindene maleate, developed to relieve itching associated with mild skin reactions.

With this new solution, the company is expanding its self-care portfolio and taking a further step in its evolution toward a comprehensive wellness model, strengthening its presence in the consumer healthcare sector and reinforcing its commitment to a more preventive, accessible, and quality-of-life-oriented approach to health.

Relipic® will be commercialized in Spain, Italy, and Portugal through Towa International’s commercial subsidiaries: Towa Pharmaceutical España, Towa Pharmaceutical Italia, and Towa Pharmaceutical Portugal.

«At Towa International, we work to make effective solutions accessible to help people feel better in their everyday lives. With the launch of Relipic®, we continue to expand our self-care ecosystem with products that contribute to well-being and help improve quality of life in response to common skin conditions,» says João Paulo Nascimento, Chief Commercial Officer B2C Europe at Towa International.

A context of increased skin exposure

The growing frequency of periods of intense heat is encouraging more outdoor activity and increasing skin exposure to factors such as sunlight, high temperatures, and insect bites, which can lead to skin discomfort and itching sensations. In this context, having topical solutions that help provide localized itch relief is becoming increasingly relevant as part of self-care routines.

Relipic® is indicated for the symptomatic relief of itching associated with mild skin reactions, such as minor rashes, urticaria, insect bites, minor sunburn, and superficial first-degree burns characterized by skin redness.

Its formulation contains dimetindene maleate, a topical antihistamine that helps block the action of histamine, the substance responsible for itching in allergic skin reactions, thereby providing localized relief from itching and irritation. In addition, it has local anesthetic properties that help reduce the sensation of irritation.

Relipic® is suitable for adults, adolescents, and children, and can also be used in infants from 1 month of age. This broad age applicability represents a key differentiating factor in the management of itchy skin conditions and reflects the company’s commitment to developing accessible solutions that address the wellness needs of an increasingly diverse population.

Relipic® within Towa International’s self-care ecosystem

The new product reinforces Towa International’s strategy of expanding into new consumer healthcare categories, broadening its activity beyond generic medicines and strengthening its commitment to self-care and everyday health. The company continues to progressively expand its OTC solutions portfolio to address the evolving needs of patients and consumers throughout the different stages of life.

Relipic® joins the company’s self-care ecosystem alongside Dermatul®, its line of dermatological solutions, further strengthening a comprehensive offering focused on skin care and everyday well-being. Drawing on its strong track record in the manufacturing and distribution of generic medicines, Towa International brings the same standards of quality, regulatory rigor, and operational excellence to these new categories that have established the group as a leading pharmaceutical company.
